OLSENBEAL
specializes in WTG installation including tower, nacelle,
and rotor erection. Our roots in the wind turbine installation
industry began in 1999 with a small project in Wyoming for
SeaWest. Since that time, we have erected over 500 wind
turbines of various sizes, makes, and on various tower heights.
OLSENBEAL
owns several new-generation Manitowoc M250 / M2250 crawler
cranes that are used very frequently with wind turbine installation.
We own several Maxer 225 attachments, as well as luffing
and fixed jibs attachments. These attachments to our cranes
allow for greater lift capacities and clearances required
for the larger turbines currently being manufactured.
OLSENBEAL
is an experienced steel erector. We have been in the steel
erection industry since 1987. We carry the Advanced Certified
Steel Erector (A.C.S.E) certification from AISC.

Windmill Projects Include: •
Hopkins Ridge –
Dayton, Washington – In late August 2005 we began to erect
the Hopkins Ridge Wind project near Dayton, Washington. We erected
83 Vestas V80 wind turbines on 67-meter towers and finished with
erecting operations just prior to the Thanksgiving weekend. This
project was built for
Renewable Energy Systems of Austin, Texas.
•
NPPD - Ainsworth, Nebraska:–
In June of 2005, we began erecting activities on the NPPD wind
project near Ainsworth, Nebraska. We erected 36 Vestas V82 wind
turbines on 70-meter towers. We finished erecting the project
one day ahead of schedule even though there were almost 4 times
the number of wind days that had been expected. This project was
built for Renewable Energy Systems.
•
Sweetwater Phase II – Sweetwater,
Texas – In September of 2004 we began erecting
the Sweetwater Phase II wind project for RES of Austin, Texas.
This phase of the project consisted of 61 GE 1500 turbines on
80-meter towers. The erecting portion of the project was completed
by mid-January of 2005.
•
Evanston Wyoming Wind Farm
– In mid-August 2003, we began with trans-loading, from
rail car to truck, at the Evanston Wind Farm. All tower and wind
turbine generators (WTG) and components arrived via the railroad.
We subcontracted our service to Barnhart Crane of Tennessee to
supply all cranes and hauling services for this projects, Barnhart
Crane was the transportation and erection subcontractor hired
by Vestas-AWT. As the
project began, it became apparent that due to the accelerated
schedule and possible weather constraints, a large skilled labor
force would be required. We were able to meet this need due to
our vast experience with windmill erection and our close proximity
to the project (only 90 miles). The project was a great success.
•
Mountain View III, Palm Springs,
CA – We began to to erect 34 Vestas V47
WTG for Vestas-AWT at the Mountain View III project in October
2003. The project was finished in November 2003. The owners are
PPM Energy and SeaWest Wind Power.
•
Highmore South Dakota
– During the months of July and August 2003 we erected (27)
G.E. 1.5MW turbines on 65-meter towers at the FPLE project located
at Highmore, SD. We were able to complete the project ahead of
schedule, even though the delivery of the turbine components was
almost 2 ½ weeks behind schedule.
• Stateline (Phase 2) near
the Wallula, Washington. During the months of
September - November 2002 we erected (55) Vestas V47 turbines
on 50-meter towers for DH Blattner and FLPE. These turbines were
an addition to the 399 turbines located on the FPLE Stateline
Wind Farm. We completed the erection of all 55 turbines several
weeks ahead of schedule.See

• Kimball Nebraska Wind Farm
- During the end of June through July 2002, we
assisted in the erection of (7) NEG Micon 1.5MW windmills on 70-meter
towers for NEG Micon and Tennessee Valley Infrastructure Group
(TVIG).See

• Mandan North Dakota Wind
Farm – In Fall of 2002, responded to a call
for help from Nordex of Germany. Their crane / erector fell through
and they were in urgent need of these services. OlsenBeal mobilized
that same weekend and erected two Nordex 1.5MW on 60-meter towers
– they were able to meet their deadline.See

• Rock River Wyoming Wind
Farm – During the months of July - September
2001, we erected (50) MHI-1000 turbines on 60-meter towers in
Rock River, Wyoming. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) of Japan
manufactured the turbines. This project was built for SeaWest
Wind Power of San Diego, CA.See

• Condon Oregon Wind Farm
– We erected this project in 2 phases. Phase I was to be
the erection of (41) MHI 600kW turbines between September - December
2001. Due to delivery delays, most of the turbine erection was
performed in the month of December amid wind, snow, and sub-freezing
temperatures. Due to our dedicated employees, who continued to
work under the extreme winter conditions, we completed it on time
to meet the PTC deadline 2001. In the Spring of 2002 we erected
Condon Phase II, (41) more MHI turbines. Phase II was erected
ahead of schedule. This project was built for SeaWest Wind Power.See

• Mountain View II Wind Farm–
Palm Springs, CA - Between November 2000 and September
2001 we erected (111) MHI 660-kW and 900-kW windmills for SeaWest
Wind Power. All turbines were erected on either 50-meter or 60-meter
towers.See
